Abstract

Thetypologiesofreligiousfacilitiesandbuildingswereexaminedinanattempttoproposeasystematicdesignapproachwhichconsidersadaptationogrowthintermsofexpansionandcontraction,andenvironmentalchallengesincludingpandemicssuchasCovid-19. TheresearchexaminedexistingreligiousspaceswithinWindhoek.Theanalysisfocussedonexistingformalandinformalactivities,spatialorganisationsandinfrastructuretypologies. TheresearchinformsthedesignofareligiousafacilityrangingfromaspecificchurchtoareligiouscomplexthatcouldhouseseveralChristianchurhesoractivitieswithvariousneeds.
